Helen Dardik of Orange You Lucky designed and offered these bookplates as a token of appreciation for her blog readers. Cute internet stuff is always better when it's free, right?

Helen mentions that she likes to use these in her "ever growing collection of unique and interesting vintage books." I like putting them inside children's books that we receive as gifts, so we can add the giver's name and date. It's just a nice reminder each time you read those books. These are especially good because they have that second line for extra writing room.

Another round of free printable bookplates, this time courtesy of Urban Nest. The owl initially caught my eye, but I like the others just as much. The flower is sweet, the primary colors are strong and the blue plaid is simple. It's the perfect collection. 

The Urban Nest suggests buying Avery labels 8.5″ x 11″ sheets that are sticker-backed. Run these through your printer (with a color cartridge) and you'll have self-adhesive labels all ready to slap into your books.
 

Quentin Blake Bookplates

Books make the best gifts. And what better way to add a little personalization than adhering an adorable book plate on that front page? I'm sure everyone will already recognize the distinctive illustrations of Quentin Blake. Particularly nice about these is that there are rendered in black and white, which makes them open to even more personalization. Spread out the colored pencils and put the little artists to work.

How lovely to be able to download all three of Quentin's designs for free. Follow his simple instructions "Click the picture you want. When it appears in a new window, choose your computer's Print command. Then cut out and stick into your favourite books!" It doesn't get any easier than that!
