Beavers, badgers and elk, oh my! You’ll learn about Yellowstone National Park, and will also discover you have acquired a stunning collection of nature photographs. This father-daughter photography team resides on the border of the park, which really shines through in their work.
The author gives a brief explanation of Yellowstone as a national park before she launches into the history of the animals, which is the true focus of the book. She explains how Yellowstone has a very complex natural system, the circumstances that progressively occurred, and their effect on the animals. It’s interesting to learn why one animal thrives, while another animal languishes.
She does a good job giving the right amount of details – enough to be informative but not overly complicated. Younger readers can enjoy the animal and scenery photos, while older readers can easily follow the narration. If you have a nature lover, I would absolutely recommend this book.
